Favourite Fruit: Grapefruit (especially in marmalade)

"A thought that might bear fruit: 'a designer is someone who, unlike an artist, has to make compromises in communicating to their audience. The skill comes through making those compromises interesting.'"

Favourite Fruit: Mango

"An apple is a generic term for lovely and juicy fruits, "oh what a lovely apple", or "as fresh as an apple", or as plump and juicy as an apple". You cannot compete with this terminology, so you need to diversify... Thinking rhyming with apple.. Apple bobbing, apple crates etc... It is still not working... So, reverse the word apple, have "****apple"... A golden apple, William Tell’s apple, a witch’s apple and so on. Leading to pine-apple.. An apple which is made from pine!"

Favourite Fruit: Favourite apple = a crunchy home-grown russet

As well as teaching at DMU I am part of an artists’ book collective called ‘we love your books’. Every year we put on an ‘open’ exhibition and currently the exhibition is touring to; Artworks in Milton Keynes, Herefordshire College of Art and Design and The University of Portsmouth. Additionally, I am trying to complete a PhD in the creative reuse of rejectamenta – anything that has been thrown away.

In my spare time I grow fruit and veg. This year’s crop of apples is expanding as I write and includes; russet, bramley, cox’s, scrumptious, laxton’s superb and crab apples.
